Support a Bill to Require Hybrid Access to Public Meetings in MA |
Bill H.3299 in the Massachusetts Legislature would require municipalities to guarantee hybrid (remote) participation options for public meetings. During the pandemic, remote meeting options removed long-standing barriers to political participation for those who are disabled, house-bound, or face other difficulties in attending in-person meetings. Ask your representative to support this bill that would guarantee continued access.

Long COVID Research Study at Beth Israel Deaconess |
Dr. Dan Barouch at Beth Israel Deaconess is starting a research study on the effectiveness of abrocitinib vs placebo for improving severe fatigue in adults with Long COVID. You might be eligible if you are over 18 years of age, have had Long COVID symptoms for more than 2 months, and have not recently tested positive for COVID-19. Participants will provide blood samples and answer questionnaires during 6 visits over 4 months. Compensation of up to $75 and a parking voucher is available for each study visit. New Paper by Anthony Komaroff |
Dr. Anthony Komaroff (Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women's Hospital) and Dr. Robert Dantzer (University of Texas) have published a new paper in Cell Reports Medicine: 'Causes of symptoms and symptom persistence in long COVID and mylagic encephalomyelitis/ chronic fatigue syndrome'. The paper provides a useful summation of shared underlying biological abnormalities in Long COVID and ME/CFS, with a focal premise that neural circuits disrupted by and reinforced by neuroinflammation constitute a symptom-generating pathway, "creating ongoing physiological vicious cycles."

Study of Housing Challenges for Those with MCS/TILT |
Joy Stone, a graduate student at Eastern Washington University, is conducting research on housing challenges for those with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS) or Toxicant-Induced Loss of Tolerance (TILT). Participants are asked to fill in a 26-question survey on their experiences with MCS/TILT. Some background information can be found here.

2025 INIM Conference September 5 |
The 2025 Institute for Neuro-Immune Medicine Conference will take place on September 5, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM (ET). This year’s theme, Hope & Help for Long COVID & ME/CFS, will spotlight the latest developments in research and personalized treatment strategies for these complex chronic conditions. Both in person and virtual attendance will be possible. Tickets will be available starting in July, along with conference details including a list of speakers, topics, and the agenda.
