Support ME/CFS Funding in House Appropriations

In some rare good news out of Washington, the Senate stepped up to include significant support for ME/CFS in its recent funding bills. This includes continuing support for the CDC's Chronic Fatigue Syndrome program and a strong recommendation to the NIH that they implement the ME/CFS Research Roadmap.

The House will need to include this language to keep the provisions in the final House bill. Please encourage your representative to support this critical funding. Solve M.E. has provided a simple toolkit for this call to action.

MAESTRO Study Seeking Participants

The Tal Research Group at MIT — headed by Dr. Mikki Tal and home of our Annual Meeting's guest speaker, Beth Pollack — is conducting the largest clinical study in MIT's history. The MAESTRO study aims to increase our understanding of the base causes of chronic infectious illness. The study is ongoing, and they are still seeking participants who have Long COVID, acute or chronic Lyme disease, and healthy controls.

If you are interested in participating in this study, you can find more information here.

CURE ID Survey on Long COVID Treatments

Tell the NIH and FDA what treatments did or did not work for you. CURE ID is a joint NIH and FDA project to collect case reports from patients with Long COVID. They recently re-opened the survey because they need more data, particularly on new treatments and treatments that did NOT work. You can start a new case report or log in to update a previous case report.

Scripps Remote Long COVID Clinical Trial

Scripps is conducting a fully remote clinical trial to evaluate repurposed drugs for treating Long COVID. They are currently looking for 1000 US participants -- sign up for the waitlist here to express interest in participating. They have not yet announced which drugs they will trial.
